Our story
Evening In is a private caregiving app for families sharing the care of an elderly parent. It started with a simple, exhausting question asked in a family group text at 9pm: "Did anyone give Mom her pills?"
When you're caring for an aging parent, the hardest part often isn't any single task — it's the coordination. A med list on the fridge. An appointment only one sibling knows about. A pillbox that may or may not have been touched. Everyone is trying, and yet nobody is quite sure what's been done.
We wanted an app that felt less like a medical device and more like a caring sibling — calm, never alarmist, quietly keeping the details so the family doesn't have to. Not streaks or scores or confetti. Just a clear, shared picture of how a parent's day is going, and the reassurance of knowing exactly who did what, and when.
That's the idea behind the care circle. Every dose carries its own small receipt — "Taken by Sarah · 8:04pm" — so the second-guessing stops. It's the one thing no other app does cleanly, and it's the heart of Evening In. We've written more on how families divide the work.
Your parent's health is nobody's business but your family's. So we made a deliberate choice most apps don't: we don't have a server. Everything lives in your private iCloud, and we designed the app so that we literally cannot see it. There's nothing for us to sell, and nothing to breach. Here's exactly how our privacy model works.
The safety core — medications, logging, the shared trail, appointments, the ER summary — is free forever. We'll never run ads against your family's data or sell it. We'll never turn a broken dose into a shameful streak. And we'll never pretend to give medical advice. Evening In tracks and coordinates; your parent's doctor and pharmacist do the rest.
