Evening In ("the app," "we," "us") is a family caregiving app that helps you track an aging parent's medications, doses, and appointments. This policy explains how your information is handled. The short version: we don't collect it.
We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your data. There are no ads, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no third-party marketing. Your care information stays on your device and syncs only through your own private iCloud account. We cannot see it.
You may enter information such as: the care recipient's name, and optionally their allergies and health conditions; medications, doses, schedules, prescribers, pharmacies, and refill dates; a log of doses given (including which member of your care circle logged each one); and appointments and who is covering them.
This information is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, it is also stored in your private iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit) so it can sync across your own devices and, if you choose, be shared with family members you invite.
You and the family members or aides you explicitly invite to your care circle, through Apple's secure iCloud sharing. Apple, as the operator of iCloud, stores the data on your behalf under Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud terms. Not us — we operate no servers and have no access to your care data. We cannot read, retrieve, or recover it.
We do not use analytics, advertising identifiers, crash-reporting SDKs, or tracking of any kind. We do not build user profiles, and we do not use your information for advertising or marketing. The app's privacy manifest declares this ("Data Not Collected").
Evening In stores the medication and health information you enter so the app can function (reminders, the shared log, the printable summary). This information is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. Evening In is a tracking and coordination tool, not a medical device; it does not provide medical advice or calculate dosages.
Evening In Plus is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never see or store your card, billing address, or Apple Account details. The app asks Apple only whether the current Apple Account is entitled to Plus, and that answer stays on your device. We do not receive a customer list, and we cannot tell who has subscribed.
evening-in.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no fonts, scripts, or images from third-party servers — everything is served from this domain. Our host, Cloudflare, processes requests to serve the site and keeps standard, short-lived server logs on our behalf. One page request checks with Apple whether the app has been released so a button can update its own label; that request is made by our server, not your browser, so your IP address is never shared.
The app schedules local medication reminders on your device. These are generated on-device and are not sent through or seen by us.
Evening In is intended for adults coordinating care for another adult. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
You can edit or delete any medication, dose log, appointment, or the care recipient at any time within the app. To remove all data, delete the app and, if desired, remove its data from your iCloud storage in iOS Settings. Because we hold no copy of your data, deleting it on your device and iCloud removes it entirely.
Your data is protected by your device passcode/biometrics and by Apple's iCloud security. Shared data uses Apple's encrypted CloudKit sharing.
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at this URL.
